The Challenge

  • Scope: Implementing for 180k employees across 60 countries would be a challenge for any company, particularly in such a highly regulated industry. Add to that, a big-bang Go Live and a large module scope (HCM, Recruiting & Onboarding, Time Tracking, Absence, Payroll, Talent & Performance).

  • Timeline: Our consultants were involved early, to advise on selection and direction. The SI were utilised along with internal resources, before we were called back in to rationalise the Program Plan and get the implementation over the line.

  • Politics: We were told there were some “characters” embedded within the organisation that would act as obstacles. This required both a strategic approach and significant Senior Stakeholder Management alongside discrete tactical interventions to just get things done.

Our Impact

Program & Test Management

Our first action was rationalising the Program Plan. A proportionate plan no longer existed and it was unclear what was covered and what essential steps were left to complete before deployment. We also created a comprehensive Test Approach, Test Plan and all ringfenced data (300 Global UAT Audience).

Recruiting & Data Migration

The organisation had lost it’s Workday Recruiting lead midway through implementation. We brought in seasoned specialist experts to turnaround and land the workstream. In addition we sourced dedicated resource with track-record of delivering in key areas of Data Migration (in the nick of time).

Detailed Expert Solutions

We supported the bank in providing frameworks for key areas of functionality within Workday, outside of the normal verticals (modules) and horizontals (integrations, data, security etc.). Specialist areas like: Translations, EIBs, and Cancel / Correct / Rescind actions and security.

  • 180k Active Employee Users - with a Go Live, on time!

  • 1.8m Recruiting applications processed per year, using lean processes, capturing clean & reportable data.

  • Data Security maintained during Testing, Data Migration and after Go Live for all active workers, aligning to all applicable Financial Services Regulatory Requirements across 60 legislations.
